Ensuring a smooth transition from legacy to new platform

Here is a list of the steps required to ensure that your Feedback Users and Teachers are configured accurately in the new platform, so that all intended users are ready to give and receive feedback and that data displays accurately in your dashboards.

Please note that all steps in the Core Migration article must be done before completing this step.

Re-set feedback permissions in the new platform

The person responsible for this step is the school administrator or school Teaching and Learning Lead.

  • Re-set permissions for 'Feedback Users' (Observers) so they have the relevant permissions to view feedback and give feedback on teaching for the correct year groups and subjects using this Knowledge Base article.
  • Re-set permissions for leaders to give 'Direct Feedback' (feedback to individual teachers only) using this Knowledge Base article.
Go live in the new platform

Please contact us when you have completed the above steps and are ready to migrate to the new platform to record all feedback.

We will switch off the importer that has been copying configuration and data from your old platform into the new. From this point forward you will use the new platform to:

  • manage accounts for feedback
  • record all new feedback
  • adjust your feedback configuration

Once these tasks have been completed and you wish your staff to log into the platform, share this link with them, along with the guidance article on the login process.

Please be aware that as soon as you share the login link with staff, they will be able to access the platform, so permissions must be correctly assigned before you share the link.

Removing access in the old platform

To avoid new feedback being recorded in the old platform please follow the guidance here to remove feedback creation permissions: removing feedback access in the old platform
